Broken Sword-Shadow of the Templars (Director's Cut)

For a game originally released in 1996, the first Broken Sword has been getting around a bit recently. Brilliantly, the iPhone version is possibly the best update of the lot.

Exploring the screen with your finger reveals ‘hotspots’ to be interacted with, a simple tap will bring up the ‘look’ or ‘use’ options. Using an item on a hotspot is as simple as dragging and dropping from your inventory, a useful golden halo indicating when the object is in the right place to be tried out on a conundrum.

If you haven’t played Broken Sword before, its delightful, puzzling and terrific script should send it hurtling to the top of your ‘must download’ list.
